Dragon Parade

Today, the children marched in our Chinese New Year Dragon Parade.  What a fun afternoon!  Thank you to all of the older students and family members who came out to cheer for us!  We hope that you enjoy the following video and picture slideshow:

Celebrating Chinese New Year

The children have really enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year.  Some of our activities have included:
  • Cleaning up our classrooms to get rid of any bad luck from last year
  • Making Chinese lanterns
  • Painting dragon masks
  • Comparing American and Chinese New Year celebrations
  • Opening a Chinese restaurant in our "Let's Pretend" center
  • Cooking real Chinese food together
  • Practicing using chopsticks
  • Preparing for our Dragon Parade

All You Need is Love

We had a busy and fun day filled with lots of love.  This morning, the children did Valentine-themed workshops.  Then, we had a special Pizza Party for lunch with some delicious cupcakes thanks to Payton's family.  Next, we opened all of our Valentine cards.  We finished the day in the gym with Coach Zazo for the annual Jumprope for Heart event.  Happy Valentine's Day!

Nutcracker Ballet and Holiday Lunch

On our last day before winter break, we took our final field trip of 2010 to the Performing Arts Center to see the Nutcracker Ballet!  The children looked so adorable all dressed up for the ballet.  When we returned to school, we had our holiday lunch.  We were glad that so many families were able to join us for this special day!  Enjoy the photos!

Oh, we're having a Thanksgiving Dinner Feast!

Friday was such a wonderful day!  We loved getting to share the day with all of our kindergarten families.  We hope that you enjoyed the feast as much as we did.  Please feel free to share your pictures and/or videos with us.  Happy Thanksgiving!
